Terms of Service

1. What this service is

GreenCareerBoard.com is a job board for the renewable energy and sustainability sector. We publish listings submitted by employers so that job seekers can find them. We are not an employment agency, we are not a party to any hiring decision, and we do not process applications — applying happens on the employer's own website.

Browsing and searching are free for job seekers, and no account is required or offered.

2. Posting a listing

Anyone submitting a listing must be authorised to advertise on behalf of the employer named in it. Submissions are reviewed before publication, and publication is at our discretion.

You must not submit a listing that:

• advertises a role that does not exist, or is materially misleading about pay, location, employer identity or the nature of the work;
• discriminates on grounds of sex, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law;
• requires the applicant to pay a fee to be considered, or promotes a pyramid or similar scheme;
• infringes anyone's intellectual property, or discloses personal data you have no right to publish;
• contains malicious code, or links to a site that does;
• is unlawful, defamatory, obscene or harassing.

Listings currently cost nothing to submit. We may remove or refuse any listing that breaches these terms, and we may do so without prior notice where the breach is serious.

3. Your content, and our use of it

You keep ownership of the material you submit. By submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute it for the purpose of running and promoting the job board, including allowing search engines to index it. This licence ends when the listing is removed, except for copies retained in backups or required for legal record-keeping.

You confirm that you have the rights necessary to grant this licence, and that the content is accurate.

4. Acceptable use of the site

You must not:

• scrape, copy or systematically extract listings for use in a competing service;
• attempt to gain access to the administration console, any account or any data that is not yours;
• probe, scan or test the security of the site except with our prior written permission;
• circumvent rate limits, or send automated traffic that degrades the service for others;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

5. No warranty about listings or outcomes

Listings are written by employers, not by us. We review submissions to filter obvious abuse, but that review is not a background check: we do not verify that an employer is solvent, reputable, or that the vacancy will remain open. You should make your own enquiries before applying, and you should never send money or identity documents to an employer on the strength of a listing alone.

The site is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data, arising from your use of the site or from any dealing between a job seeker and an employer.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

7. Fees

Submitting a listing is currently free of charge. Paid promotion is advertised on the site as planned but is not yet available, and no payment is taken anywhere on this site. If we introduce charges, we will publish the price and the payment and refund terms before you are asked to pay, and paid listings will be governed by those terms in addition to these.

8. Removal and suspension

We may remove a listing, or block access to the site, if these terms are breached, if we are required to by law, or if the content presents a risk to users. If you believe a listing infringes your rights or is fraudulent, write to us and we will review it promptly.

9. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Changes and governing law

We may amend these terms; the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the amended version.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
